  • Fixing sag in rear door?

My daughter's vehicle has developed a sag in the rear door.
Moving the hinges won't fix the problem because they are attached sideways to the body, so moving the top hinge in or out only does the same thing to the door.
The only way that I can see is to add a space or washers to the bottom hinge to lift the door.
Has anyone done this fix or similar before?
    Gary.

There is an outline of how to adjust the alignment of the rear door in the Gregory's Manual... I'll have a look when I get home and see what it says.

It mentions two adjustments in the Gregory's.

      1. Tailgate Hinges.
Door side hinge bolts look like they have up/down adjustments available.

      2. Stopper.
Looks like it also has up/down adjustments.

Both look like band-aid fixes... maybe replacing the hinges entirely might work if those adjustments don't.

Yep I got my mechanic to investigate mine today.....It will need a new lower hinge, the hinge comes in black only so it will need to be colour matched & a panel beater is where it will need to be done....

Yet to get pricing but thats next I guess.

        Cheers
