I have been tolerating having to slam the cargo door for years and never truly knowing if I'd slammed it hard enough. Made up a couple of shims to fit between the hinge plate and the door. I calculated I needed 1.5mm shim, cut pieces of stainless to be a little larger than the contact area of the hinge plate., Marked the location of the holes for the 2 hinge bolts and drilled. The the treaded diameter hinge bolts is approx 9.7mm dia. If you want precision, then I think the nearest drill size is 25/64 inch. I wobbled a 3/8inch drill to get the same effect. I cut a slot in the two spacers so that the hinge bolts did not have to be completely removed for fitting.
I jacked the rear door just sufficient to take the weight of the door and used 12mm socket (spanner will work but bolts are tight) and undid them both sufficient to gently bump each spacer into position.
Tightened bolts; removed jack; further tightened bolts. Perfect.
The spacers are really just large washers to support the wider surface area of the hinge.
Writing this took longer than the job.
