Guys,
was wondering if anyone here would be able to or willing to help me out?
Im trying to look for an alternative way of upgrading the current Hilux's front Brakes and keep the 16" wheels....I know I can fit Prado 120 brakes to the hilux (ala TRD Hilux) but need a 17" wheel for this to clear "properly"......
I know that with some grinding of the Prado 120 caliper that this "might" fit on a 16" rim but that dependant on the rims used.
The other alternative I have been thinking about is using Prado 90 Calipers and rotors on the current hilux.
Why?
Because the current hilux rotors have a diameter of 297mm.
The Prado 90 rotors have a diameter of 319mm
They both fit a 16" rim, the Prado having a larger rotor and caliper to suit.
What I'd like to do is trial fit a Prado90 caliper onto the front hub of a current hilux to see if it bolts up to the hilux caliper mounting holes....
If it does, then we are in business as Prado90 calipers are cheaper than Prado120 calipers and would suit a larger amount of hilux owners who run 16" rims and are aching for a brake upgrade that is effective in both performance or cost.
If anyone of you guys has a spare caliper lying around by chance...or by the off chance they have access to a current model hilxu that they could possibly try and fit the caliper onto the front hub it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.
Max.
