I am in Costa Rica and parts are a booger to source here. Getting parts from the US is by far the easiest option, so I am wondering if the 4runner rack will fit into our Prado's. If not, is there any other compatibility?

As far as I know the 90's share the same chassis with the 1996-2002 4runner, so steering racks should be compatible. Happy to be corrected on that one.
There are several forum members from South America with 90's. They may be able to point you in right direction for 90 spares.

Would love to hear from some Central America people if you happen to have a source other than the dealership.
I crossed reference the two parts on ToyoDIY and they appear to be the same. I think I will take my chances and go ahead and put in the order.
I will follow up with this thread for reference if I find it does not work.Comment

Perhaps pose the question over on the IH8MUD forum as there are a few central American prado owners over that way and they might have a more definite answer for you.
Given the gen 3, 4 runner is pretty much the same underneath I'm guessing all will match up but can't be 100% without cross checking.Comment
