  • Automatic gearbox???

    Hi All,
Is there an automatic gearbox that will matchup with my 3L( not 3.0lt turbo but non turbo 2.7 diesel). My plan is to fit 285/75 r16 and then turbo charge it with the 2L turbo to get it original slug like performance back. I spend a fair amount of time in stop and go traffic and the misses uses the truck also this is why I want the auto box. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be greatful. Also how do work out what gearbox I have? Mine is a Jap import and manuals for my configuration only exist in Japanesse. Heard rumours of a French version that can be found in N. Africa. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Thanks in advance

    Re: Automatic gearbox???

The model of the transmission is written on a plate under the bonnet.

Not sure about a compatible autobox for the 3L engine though.

I'm guessing the same A343F auto box that is used with the 3RZ-FE, 1KZ-TE and 5VZ-FE Prado's not to mention the 1HZ and 1FZ-FE 80/105 series would work with the 3L.

      Re: Automatic gearbox???

Wow! Thanks for the speedy reply Williade Ok good news I hoped that there was one universal unit knocking about. Reason being I want to keep my options open in case I decide to swap engines instead of turbon' the 3L. Never know I may come across a deal I can't refuse on a better engine, but still I want the autobox. Cheers!
