    They are codes from Prados and Colorado 90 series in Europe and Japan
    No Soarers or other TMC vehicles were harmed in the making of that table.
    Maybe the Aus market codes were different?
    I don't know but that table is true for European vehicles.

      Bounder, we shall see. I ordered the part for a LSD type dif. I know if it is the right one if I open the dif.

      When I search the Internet after starting this thread I allready found an (older) Amerikaan forum who also says it is a LSD dif... I will know for sure when it is opened.

      Got a call from the Toyota importer in the Nerherland, they also could not tell me what sort of diff it is.....

        This code is on the Vin plate below the vin nr. Could any one tell me this.
        I searched the internet but could not find 1 answer, some pages say it is an open dif, some say it is LSD.

        Thank you, Bor
        I would have at a guess from the vehicles I have looked at it is a 4.3 open,

        It seems to be the code is :

        01 = 4.1
        02 = 4.3
        A = LSD
        B = Open Diff

        the usage seems to follow this pattern:

        4.1 in Diesel, 4.3 in Petrol, due to torque/rpm range etc.

        LSD in all unless fitted with the VSC, TCS, then it is Open diffs and the ABS does all the magic

        I hope this helps, only my findings so far, I did prefer the old system to work it out
