  • Cruise control issue?

Just bought a Diesel 2000 TD 90 series, our first 4 x4 so a definate lack of knowledge involved.

On a drive from Mittagong to Sydney via the Hume and M7 with cruise set to 95Km towing a fully loaded box trailer and 5 occupants in the car.
    Manual transmission, 3 liter diesel.
I think the engine revs were about 2000, chugging along in 5th gear.
    Pretty flat motorway.

Cruise dropped out some 6-7 times for no reason I could see. Vehicle speed had not dropped from the set 95, no brakes involved, no hills, it just disengages.
Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or explain whats going on.
There was no owners manual with the car so there's a lot of trial and error here for me.

    cheers

I had that problem at one stage. I was told by Toyota that if the brake fluid is low, it can cause the cruise control to drop out. Forget the reason why, but check that and it may stop this happening.
