    Hi I Have had My 90 series now for 6 months and I do long trips in it I am interested in feedback as to how long the front and rear wheel bearings last .My prado has 215000klm. thankyou

    thanks for your reply yes all those things can change the life of the bearings and you would expect to hear them in the early stages of failure.
    I have jacked them up and there is no play in any of them and they are still very quiet.
    If no one has had bearing failure under 300 000klm then I probably have a few more trips left on the originals .
    I am a Forklift Mechanic and been around machinery most of my life and often component life is consistant with hours or Klm
    I have a few mods I would rather spend my money on ( steel bull bar and tyre and suspension upgrade ) .
    But at the same time would rather replase bearings at home in the shed than on the side of the road in the middle of the Stuart HW with a wife and 2 screaming kids.

      I think the seals will go first.

      Has yours had the 2006 recall to replace rear axles? Mine (1998 GXL) were done just prior to my trip to Cape York from Kalgoorlie all free thanks to Mr Toyota. I still have this vehicle and last year replaced the drive shaft front diff seals on both side as the right was leaking. The bearings are still like new.

      Hopefully my new 2009 GXL will last as long.

        thanks for the info I dought that recall {rear axle} was done on mine can you tell me what the recall was to repaire
        we are planing to go to the cape also thes year. thankyou
