  • Centerforce clutch kit

Hello there :!: I'm writing from Greece. I'm the owner of a Toyota Prado VZJ 90, 2/2000. It's time to change my clutch kit (160.000 km) and I'm looking for Centerforce dual friction clutch kit.
Has, anybody, driving experience of this clutch :?: :?: :?:

    Re: Centerforce clutch kit

Can you even get one for a Prado?, maybe for the petrol V6 but not sure about the diesel.

It's a good set up, it'll drive much like the stock clutch (as it should, it's a "street" clutch). Pedal effort is much the same... maybe a fraction more but you won't notice.

Centerforce hasn't got a kit for Prado but for 4Runner. I have checked it in http://www.toyodiy.com/. Both models have the same clutch kit.
Yes, my Prado is a petrol model. Do you consider that Centerforce dual friction will be problematic for serious off - road?

I don't see why it would be... it's not that much different from a standard clutch design. It's has one side normal friction material and one side is like a "Puck" style clutch.

If anything it will grab more and be a little harder to slip the clutch... you might have to adapt your driving style a little. It's hard to say as I've only known them in street cars were you tend to quick shift, not slip the clutch to crawl over a big rocks or obstacles.

Personally I'd go a more conventional clutch in heavy duty format. Something like the Centerforce 2. Which would give you near "stand clutch" driver control.
