Transmission Knock/Jolt?

My first post...I've got a ton of useful information from you guys...thanks and nuff respect...

I just bought a 2001 Prado 3.4L (VZJ95 - 5VZFE)...everytime I slow down and then hit the gas there is a hard knock or jolt from what I'm thinking is the transmission...the same thing happens if I stop and then put the car in reverse...a hard knock/jolt then it moves off...

What could be the cause of this and how can I get it fixed...

how many kms does it have on the clock. cheers samo

Hey Jama,

My 95 clunks a bit when I brake to a halt and it drops into first, are you talking about the same thing?

Have you checked all your crossmembers etc?

check uni joints on the drive shafts .Twist drive shafts and look for play /loose in the joints
