Diff Ratio's- Hilux Compatability?

Are Prado diff C&P the same as a Hilux? If so which? Prado's only go as low as a 4.3, which i have in my 2.7 and i'm hoping that i can use 4.56 or 4.88 ratio's to run bigger rubber.
Also want to know if Hilux lockers fit?

Not the same as Hilux . I was looking for a rear crown wheel and pinion for my 90 series a few years back , was told more like a Hiace van diff.

it would be good to know which ratio it is that has the weakness of stripping teeth? then finding a different ratio crownwheel and pinion might also get away from the weak point aswell as improve driveability for larger tyres.

Has anyone got a ARB catalog? i thought that the Prado air locker and Hilux were the same part number, and if that is the case then why wouldn't the R&P be the same? It seems strange that Toyota would use something out of a 2wd or even develop a seperate diff, when they have the diffs from a Hilux or Cruiser.

The rear is the same as the Hilux and the front is the same as the 120 series.

I have a current model Hilux 4x4 and have actually replaced the original gears with the versions from the 120 series manual in order to return the gearing to stock when changing the tyres from the std 29" to 32".

Not sure about the 90 series though - may be similar to the 6th gen Hilux at the front.

Have a look for FJ cruiser parts from the states if you want different gears - they have heaps of rock crawling stuff and the FJ cruiser is based on the 120 series.

The front is a reverse cut 7.5" from a Tacoma in US and Rear is a 8" from Hilux.
Found this place in US that sells all the gears and lockers

I want to run 32's. I have tried to run them in the past, but with the 2.7 i lost too much power and now i have a camper trailer i need every bit of power i can get. In a 2.7 you need high revs to get the power.
4.88's will bring it back to standard with 32's.
