Highbeam Switching Wire?

i have a 2001 prado, just fitted a wireing harness and spots, the wire that gos to the highbeam switch? how to find it, must this wire be conected to complete the circuit? can any one help :?

I just hooked into the highbeam power to the headlights and run this back as a control wire into the realy to drive the driving lights. I believe this is the common practice. There was some debate over which wire is which, some where from the top pin while others the middle so if you do the same then test with a test light to make sure.

It's also interesting that you are posting your question in the 120 general section when your vehicle is a 2001 build. Would have been best to ask the question over in the 90 series Electrical and a search would have probably also given you a how to for one of the series.
