  • Rear power socket

In order to run my fridge from this do I have to upgrade the wireing & socket or is the standard suficent.

To make it constant power can I just rewire it from my aux batt to the fuse under the bonnet.

Does any one know if 240v cable can be or should be used for 12V applications as long as it is flex and not solid.

    Re: Rear power socket

Not sure about running a fridge straight off the rear power socket so I'll refrain from commenting.

    Re: 240V cable for rewiring.
Being 240V is kind of irrelevant, its the amp rating you have to worry about. I'd get a cable (240V or otherwise) that has an amp rating higher than you need to minimize power loss from the length of the cable, e.g fridge needs 10A, get a 15A cable

That is probably tin plated copper. It makes it a tiny bit easier to solder.

We ran 6mm cable from the Aux. battery through the chassis rail (in split flex conduit and fused ) and up to the rear. This runs both air compressor and fridge....figured it's better to use a decent wire for these things.
