Drive light

I have a simple question, does the Drive indicator on the Dash display when you are in Drive, all the other gears displays as normal but the not the drive light.

If this is a fault how does one fix this, someone said to me that it was normal for the Drive light not to display as it would be a distraction whilst driving..

The drive light does display, you have got a blown bulb behind the display, however it is a right pain to get to it, and i would just leave it as is, it is better at night while driving, mine blew ages ago, and I have left it as is.
