  • Keyless Entry Standard?

I have just bought a 2002 90 Series GXL V6 Pet VZJ95R which didn't come with any door remotes. The local Toyota dealer wants to charge a half hours labour just to let me know if it has the keyless entry receiver under the dash or not. Does anyone know if keyless entry was standard on this model? If so I will buy a couple of remotes and program them myself. You would think that the Toyota dealer would be able to answer this question straight up .. but no!

I would think that your model would have,i had an 97 rv6 that had central locking via driver door lock and i was able to buy a remote kit from toyota which they fitted and all was fine.I assume that if you have keyed central locking then you can then fit up a remote kit either toyota or aftermarket from a company like Rhino

It was an option. If you have it you can pull out the passenger kick panel and there should be a black box bolted in behind it. I just brought a central locking kit for mine from Toyota it was only about $150.00. Bolts straight in and works like a genuine product should!

i got a kit of ebay and it took less then 15 min to install. i think it was about $50.
nearly a year latter not 1 problem.
as far as the genuine product $150 sounds like a good price.

When I bought my Prado (second hand) the previous owner told us that the vehicle does have a keyless entry system installed in it, but the remotes broke so he threw them out. So we went to Corjay Aire (Lockleys SA) regarding about purchasing some more remotes for this item; luckily we had the user manual for the genuine toyota product.

They rang up the company who looked after the keyless entry, and said that they did not stock any of these items anymore... So after all that, I gladly purchased a keyless entry system from them. They did a great job installing it, with great customer service. Dont know where im going with this, but yeah... My Prado 90 came with a user manual for the item. Ill write down the part number for you tomorrow.

For those who are interested, it is called the

                Remove Control Conversion Kit
                Part No. 08674-32002C

                Extra Remotes
                Part No. 08674-32012C

Sorry about the double post. I remember that you're not allowed to photocopy manuals and put them up on PradoPoint. If you require pictures, ill take photographs of the manual and send them to you via email, snail-mail or carrier pigeon. (When the aftermarket was installed, they kept the module) (...maybe I shouldn't got that back, oh well)

Hi, my 98 RV 2.7lt had central locking on it but not key less entry, if you have the lock unlock on the drivers door you have central locking, the keyless entry is on the drivers side kick panel as stated by someone else. I followed one of the links on here and bought a key less entry kit with 2 remotes for 30 dollars off eBay. I don't think it matters what type you just wire it into the lock unlock switch which is on the right hand side of thensteeringnwheel on the RV or on the driver door on the GXL. Hope this helps

Hello All .i had been to toyota today and quoted them this material # (quoted by Easycompany24)......the lady said these part # are not available any more...........so i'll have to go for after market kit...........called another toyota .they advised since mine is a GXL it should have the kit already and the only thing we may need is to reprogram the new remotes ( approx $ 40 each) ...but also stated just to check whether the kit is already installed they would charge $70 for inspection......so if it turns out that my car doesnt have a kit in it i still will have to pay for the inspection ..................any suggestions
