  • Car alarm fitting Stations Near Sydney

Hello All ..would be interested in knowing if any one has got an after market car alarm system at around $ 300 mark fitted from a car electrician

my car only came with STD keys. it does have a central locking. Toyota has charged me $70 just to tell me they can fit the keyless entries but would charge another $300 ( No alarm just lock and unlock)

SO if any one can refer.... someone who does a goods job for car alarms and charges a resonable price

i did try some businesses but all they all quote a minimum of $ 400

My post code is 2216,if that helps

Over the weekend I drowned Pedro (2000 TD) in a water crossing... while I was lifting up the front passenger carpet I discovered that I had a remote central locking module - WOO HOOO! But no key fobs...

Long story short... New remote central locking module from Toyota: $80. New key fob fron Toyota: $40. Pairing of module and key fobs by Toyota: $UNKNOWN. But if we use your quote of $400 as a basis... $400 - $80 - ($40x2) = $240 for pairing and installation hmmm... that's three hours worth of $80 labour or 2 hours at $120/hour. Both seem excessive as the module can be pulled out and re-installed in under 15mins.

Soooo.... mastermanoj I'm in the same situation as you (or similar) and am also interested in an alarmed central locking unit

If you are a handy man, and you can use multi-voltmeter, it should be quite easy task to do the job because Prado should be the easiest car to install third-party car alarm in.

It really depends on what type of Car alarm you want to install in, the functions of that kit will decide the total price.

Normally, the kit can be from $90 (standard kit with alarm, immobiliser, keyless entry) to around $200.

Currently on the market they have one special type of Car alarm which the remote looks just like a credit card, you don't keep in hand, just put it in your wallet. Whenever you come close to the car in 2m, it will open the door. When you leave the car more than 2m, it will lock the car. It is quite interesting and comfortable for shopping woman and many others. This kit will be the most expensive for about $300 only the kit.
