  • Positive feed in rear door

I need a positive feed in the rear door of my Colorado (Prado) to mount a door table light. Ideally I need it to be available even if the ignition is off. Any ideas?

I want to pick up a feed that is already in the door, but I don't think any of them (brake light, reverse light, wiper...) are on while the ignition is off. All I can think is to run a wire from the rear boot light down the pillar and into the door.

I ran my wiring back inside the door, through the rubber hose, back up to the rear door light. LED strip light stays on while the door is open, but switches off when it is closed. I bypassed the actual on off switch, so I can turn off the power sucking rear lights and still run the LED's...

I replaced my rear light bulb with a smd led panel - much brighter (with less current draw). I think I will tap into that positive feed and run it into the door like you did. I want to mount the light just below the rear window so that it shines down onto the table and not in my eyes. THIS is the light I am fitting.

You should be able to find a constant live wire going to the rear wiper motor.
