Keyless entry but no flashing lights

I have a 1997 SWB 3.4L as well as a 2001 LWB 3.4L, although both have keyless entry, neither of the cars have flashing lights to confirm either a lock or unlock mode.

Is this typical of this model? My 120 Series (2005) which I had recently sold had lights flash to confirm either lock/unlock and I was wondering why the 95 series do not. Is this a programming issue? or is the system not hooked up for this option?

Hi Baz

Not sure about other model 90's , but my 99 GXL has two quick flashes when I unlock it and one slightly longer flash when I lock it.
