  • IPF900 hid conversion

I am running a pair of IPF900 spotties and am thinking of converting them to 55watt HID. Just wondering if anybody had any advice or opinions.

I am advised that there is a new kit by a reputable supplier I use. I will post up the details this weekend.

I have been using a 55 watt kit from Predator Lighting here in Brisbane since 2009 without any issues.
In my case i actually changed the spot lenses to a spread beam as it suited my use much better, plus I found the HID bulb gave a excellent spread beam as opposed to the spot which while extremely bright became more of a figure 8 pattern.

I've converted my 900 XS IPF's to 70w HID and love them. Did Cairns to Hervey Bay overnight and are both spots. I rely on the high beam for spread. Came from a place called New Pro Tech, was given the link here on PP. Great kit, simply unplug standard globe and connect the ballast and ignitor, both of which a fitted inside the housing. That way you keep the IPF's watertight integrity. About $240 a kit from memory.

            Cheers,
            Dusty

Yep, New Pro Tech said in October 2012 they were updating their kits.
