  • Power window problem

    Hi
95 Series 2001 Tx 8 seater. Front passenger side window stopped working (wont go up from passenger switch, or up or down from drivers switch). It may be a coincidence but it might be when two people tried to operate the window from drivers main switch & passenger switch at the same time. All switches and wires appear to be working (tested with meter). I did the reset (auto up and down 5 sec) and window lock down for 5 sec and it didn't work.

I can use a bypass wire (from green/red wire to green/red wire) from the drivers switch to get the passenger switch working, but it is not the answer as the drivers switch still does not work. My right mirror electrics also seem to be gone (coincidence?). All fuses are ok. I also disconnected the batteries, turned the lights on and reconnected the battery to do a reset and it is still the same.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Could be a earthing problem on the regulator

      Solved!
Two broken wires and two hanging on by a thread in the long grommit that passes the drivers door and into the Prado by the drivers footwell. My Prado has over 300k on the clock so it must just be wear and tear on the wires from opening and closing the door. By taking the two connectors off at the drivers footwell and brining the whole wiring loom back out through the speaker on the door was the easiest way to get a look at it.
