  • Low beam issue after fitting driving lights

Hi all, I got a pair of 170 strikers at TJM and they fitted them. It's been a week and both dimmers have blown and I have lost my hi beam light on the dash board. I understand there is a specific way to fit lights on Older toyotas it's 90 series 3.4, 2000 model, but what would the problem be. I would take it back but suspect they won't know and I'm extremely busy at work at the minute. They have used a single wiring harness, wired to battery, with a switch inside cabin. However they only work on hi beam. Anyway can anyone suggest how to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance mates.

When I installed my 170 strikers on my 2001 GXL prado it was real straightforward. Can you post up some pics of the wiring and how they tapped into your high beam?

The driving lights are only meant to work with your high beam and must be able to turn off independently of your high beam, so this part is done write. The rest sounds like an auto lecki job although you had no problems prior so I would be taking it back to them and get them to chase it up and fix it (without cost)....Cheers Steve

Looking this morning my hi beam dash light is all good. So maybe something of an oddity. Still waiting for low beam to blow though will see, could driving with the switch for spots on do it even though they aren't operating cause a surge of current?
