  • Tailgate courtesy light switch. Is ther one?

I have an internal light on the roof inside the tailgate that seems to have 3 settings. Off/On/Door.
But when selecting, i only get on or off with the door open.
If i leave it on, the light stays on after closing the tailgate.
I cannot seem to locate a switch on the inside of the tailgate area to see if that is the problem.

Does anyone know where(if) it has a switch here?

Yes there is a switch. Havent found it yet.
Try cleaning the contacts inside the light for the door switch operation. Mine had the same problem and was fixed this way.
    Ken.

Will remove and check the wiring there also. Would not have thought it to be incorporated into the lock itself.

A lot of cars do have them incorporated into the rear door lock mech.

As mentioned is in the lock. Mine does not work despite many attempts to clean etc. Means if I unlock car and want to access rear area I have to first open a door as otherwise it will relock in 30 seconds.

Managed to pull the courtesy light out and have a look at it. Seemed to switch cleanly, but gave it a but of a scratch up where i could, and a crc spray.
How did you clean the contacts Ken?

Re-fitted and found the door mode then worked. However, at the ON position, the globe glows much brighter, than when in DOOR mode. Maybe a little extra clean at some stage required.
Might buy an LED festoon globe instead to see if i can make it a big brighter also.

This must be a thing with the rear courtesy lights across both 90 & 120's.
Mine is brighter on-on than when on-door...

From memory I just used 400/600 wet and dry just until contacts are clean at contact point, you will see a mark prior to cleaning. Ken.
