Sorry but on earth do I open the " Map Lights " covering and from which point, front, back, side, top, bottom, or use a hammer ?

I assume you are looking change out a globe.
Use a screw driver to separate the blue plastic from the roof lining in the centre front.
The whole unit clips in.
