Where is my Hazard Light Switch?

I am somewhat concerned, but not too much. I have no switch for my hazard lights. I took it to a Toyota Dealer and they went to show me where it was...."It's right, um....where is it? It's suppose to be here"......They showed me the schematics for the wiring diagram, it is suppose to be there. I have had the dash fascia surround off whilst installing my stereo, there are extra wires with plugs behind there, but not sure as to what they are for. Could anybody enlighten me as to which wires they may be please?

That is crazy. It's like they forgot to put it in when building the car!!!! Maybe it means you have a special "Limited Edition" Prado...

I know it's suppose to be there, but like you said, it's like they forgot to install it when it was being built. I just say to myself...."It doesn't need to use the hazard lights, it's a Prado. It never breaks down."...... :lol:

So is there just a blank space where the switch is meant to be? Or is the hole there, just no switch in it?

No hole. Under my clock there is four blank spaces. I have used two, one for my reverse camera switch, and the other for my sub control. Just weird how it's not there at all.

Strange indeed!

Maybe for some reason the previous owner removed it or had a different switch there?

May remain an unsolved mystery!

My guess is that some imported models may not require them and in your case it was either stuffed up from factory or a previous owner has like said blanked off or fitted imported facia as I would think on pre delivery from new it would have certainly have been noticed as there a requirement for checking working order and no one overlooks any thing on pre delivery :shock: . ( one would think )

The car used to be owned by Greening Australia. I gathered it has been used for traveling in the out back as it still has plenty of red dust in the doors and some on the engine (even after many cleans). I just thought it was a compulsory measure to have the hazard light switch installed.
