HI guys love this forum! Was wondering, I have recently set up a dual battery system using a redarc isolator. Firstly will I ever need to jump start using a jumpstarter and if so, would a 300 amp jumpstarter do the trick, if not, how having a dual battery system cause me never to have a flat battery. I apperciate any advice on this thanks guys!

Re: Jumpstarting using a jumpstarter
Hi tdko,
There are a number of reasons why you may still end up with a flat cranking battery. For example, if you have been using your stereo all night and accidentilly left your ignition and lights on over night after you have had a few to many when camping (can happen

If you have fitted up the manual over ride switch with the red arc isolator, you would just need to use this to 'tie' the two batteries together momentarily to start the vehicle. If you have been running your fridge off your second battery for a few days without moving the vehicle, then there may not be enough charge in the second battery to turn over the starter. In this case you would then need a jump start. IMO a 300amp jumpstarter pack should suffice.
