  • Headlight problem: low beams stopped working

    Dear fellow enthusiasts,

The headlights (low beam) on my 1997 Prado all of a sudden stopped working. The high beams still work albeit without the blue warning light in the instrument panel. I've checked fuses and the dimmer relay but these are all working fine. On the list of possible issues, what should I be looking for next?

    Thanks for suggestions,
    Tempur

Thanks. I haven't looked at the light bulbs yet because both low beams stopped simultaneously. I'll replace them to eliminate the bulbs as an issue. Turning on the headlights (low beam and high beam) results in an audible 'click' inside the relay (there's only one). To me, this suggests that power is sent to the switch but not to the headlight when the switch is in low beam position. Also, I can't explain the absence of the blue indicator light for high beam.
      Thanks for suggestions,
      Tempur
