  • wiring for spotties

Hi just wondering if anyone knows if there is provisions to hook up spot lights like an accessories spare fuse and a wire for switch ? or is it need to all be plumed in. If so where is the best place to get switch power from off the hi beams. is there a high beam switch wire that you can easyly tap into under the dash ?

The easiest way is to buy a spot light wiring kit, it is just plug in and play, very easy to fit.

You wont be likley to find existing wiring that you can use but there is the possibility of a spare fuse BUT it would be easier to do it your self.

As Croozza suggested you can go down the path of purchasing a set of spotties and a prepared wiring loom to suit your vehcile but you can also make your own. If yoy do it yourself ensure that the wiring has a nigh enough current rating for its purpose. Also ensure that the actual power to the spotties is not being switched directly through the cab switch but through a relay. For the switch ciruit wiring I wouldn't recommend wire that is less than 2A capacity and for the power to the lights drom battery to relay to lights I would suggest a minimum of 10A but that will depend upon how much current your lights will draw.

Also remember that you should only be able to power your spotties when your high beams are on. Easiest way to do this is to link into the highbeam power supply to the spotties for the power to the switch (not the relay).
