LOL Ben, I think they just swap portfolios every 28 days

This is the info I have got from Brian from Beudesert Exhausts over the last couple of days:

      Hello Steve

We make a 2 3/4" aluminized mandrel bent system to suit your Turbo Diesel Prado.

These exhaust systems are all bent and built in our own workshop with our automatic mandrel tube benders and highly experienced, qualified staff.

All kits come with nuts, bolts and gaskets supplied (apart from gasket off the back of the turbo-which is quite okay to use again) and fit on to all original mountings and brackets.

Our customers have given us good feedback, being extremely happy with the improved torque and fuel economy of their vehicles after installing one of our systems. We have found that we sell a lot of our product to people towing large vans and boats looking for more power to get them up the hills and passing lanes.

We make our own free flow mufflers, which are designed to keep the noise level similar to the original system. Our aim is to improve performance and keep the noise level minimal.

The cost for an aluminized steel system is $960.00 plus $25.00 packaging, plus freight.

Alternatively we can fit for you at a price of an extra $125.00.

Thanks for your enquiry. I hope to hear from you again soon.

      Brian Parker
and on another question about the dump pipe, I got a reply the next day:

      Hi Steve

Yes our system includes a dump pipe and our free flow muffler. We would need 2 to 3 hours to fit a system to this vehicle. When you are ready, just phone and give us a few days notice. Also, we will be closing down for two weeks over Christmas.

      Thanks

      Brian
This is better than the taipan xp guys, who came back with a dyno of the stock prado vs the exhasut plus a dp chip- $1,400 for just the exhaust.

I have no preference either way, but basd on the feedback and the price (and because I'm only 30 minutes down the road from em!) I'm definately thinking Beau-ey exhausts come new years (pending strategic approval from the war ministry)

        Hello all,

Finally got approval and lashed out and bought a Beau-ey system. feels much better off the mark now with boost coming in at 14-1500rpm. I hope it improves fuel economy with diesel at $1.50/ltr with no sign of it going down

I did find it louder with the wife commenting it sounds like a old hilux now?? I noticed the muffler is a mercury (I thought they made their own??)

Do ya think any of you blokes who have fitted a 2.75" Beau-ey system to thier diesel Prado's could post a few photos of the tail pipe. And has anyone fitted one of these themselves, what was the experience like.
Hope to order one soon but will be getting it freighted to WA

Thanks for the photos Ben. The system looks a lot more tucked up and protected than the toyota one. Just one more thing does the system come with a flexible section like the original ? :?

There is a flexi section up front under the drivers seat area. I fitted the system myself in the driveway - all very simple apart from getting the old cast dump pipe off  . Give me a yell if you need any more photo's

 Ain't that the truth.... I nearly gave up and sent the whole thing back at one stage.....Worth the skinned knuckles in the end.

Tips: 3/8 socket set with short wobble bar, soak everything with CRC or similar overnight, wear riggers or mechanics gloves!!

                          Hi Mr McBain

I have only noticed about 50+/-kms extra out of each tank but it all counts I guess. The Safari chip made more of a difference to economy than the exhaust. My fuel use is currently 12.5ltrs/100kms which I think is probably not to bad for a 2.5t brick on wheels

                            Hi all,
Just wondering if people had any thoughts as to which was better between the Dtronic and DP Chip? Have tried searching the archives with no success. Sorry if this had been asked/answered elsewhere.

I have a 2000 TX which i bought 2nd hand back in 2003. The guy who owned it had already done a 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust and a snorkel. I have since put a K&N filter in.

                            Cheers

Just thinking, did any of you blokes who self installed thier Beaudesert exhaust system use any of that heat proof wraping on the dump pipe. Just asking because the heat sheild wont be going back on.

Was preparing mine today while waiting for the exhaust to turn up by removing the heat sheild and dousing with Inox and cracking the nuts and now I can see why the Yanks build big cars. You have to hands the size of a 3 year old, the strength of Arnie and skin of an armadillo, strange looking creature  .
But looking forward to removing the old system and fitting the new.

                                G'Day Steve

I hear what your saying about the access issue - I must say I have the armadillo skin though

I looked at the heat shield being missing and thought that the dump pipe now being proper pipe instead of cast iron and the reduced back pressure it should not hold the heat in as much.

There is some flexible heat matting on the firewall and to date mine has not had a problem with heat. The only time I think it would be a problem is if you where doing some very hard work in 1st or 2nd gear like going up a big mother sand hill or something causing lack of airflow around the area.

                                Hope you enjoy the system
