  • location of MAF/MAS sensor

G'day, can anyone tell me whereabout the Mass Air Flow sensor is on the 3l diesel? mines a 2001 model, and i have read a heap about cleaning out the intake system, but also wanted to clean the maf sensor as well.

I have an idea that it might be just off the intercooler, immediatley prior to the butterfly/egr valve.

Perhaps a 1KZ owner can confirm, but I don't think the 1KZ has (or needs) a MAF sensor.

Thanks guys. I had the fault codes written down when i got the transmission serviced, but i lost them, but i do know that one was air flow/pressure and the other had something to do with the turbo air pressure i think. I did google them, and found one was the air flow, which i though was the MAF sensor, but thanks to you guys i know now its not! I couldnt find the other fault code through google, but i almost positive that the other one was the intake pressure sensor.

      Thanks again guys, greatlty appreciated.

Hey Roo, can you help me a bit more? You seem to know a bit about these sensors. I have confirmed that my fault codes are p0110 (24) and p1405 (35). So i rang two Toyota to get a price on replacement sensors, and both had no idea about them, and coudlnt find them in there parts catalogue. Is this because they are something that shoudlnt fail, or that they just cant be bothered stocking something like this?

Are these sensors unalbe to be cleaned/repaired?

        Thanks again mate,
