Erratic Idle on start-up
“sometimes !!!” my KZTE will have a rough Idle on start up , The rev counter goes from 800 to 750 rpm once every second If I leave it carries on and then sorts itself out after about 30 or so seconds, then sorts its self out . Also if I give the car a good rev it seems to go away.
This can happen if the engine is hot or cold but does not happen every time. Once we are moving, idle is rock solid. It can happen first thing in the morning (but not every morning) or after a long trip and I have let the car sit for a couple of hours. However if you are making short trips throughout the day it starts fine with absolutely no issue.
I have not noticed any excessive smoke and it is not particularly cold or hot here at the moment. I cannot replicated the idle problem with a mechanic as sods law it will behave itself!
The spedo says that I have about 84000 on the clock but I cannot be sure as we brought the car second hand with very low mileage for its age.
