  • Oil Catch Can

    my Mechanic says that due to my 1KZ-TE engine is non-common rail so it doesnt need Oil Catch Can.....true?

    after installing i could hear Wizzing sound every time i accelerate...so im thinking of taking it out...(after a back breaking, tiring effort installing it :/)

That's right, you have the older version there that they put in the Hiluxes over here in Australia. Is your oulet hose going to the inlet on the turbo there? If so, you should be getting some benefit. Have a look down your venturi or throttle body and see how dirty it is. If it is dirty, give it a clean with Carb cleaner taken out of the inlet there, and see how long it takes to get dirty again. With a catch can, this should slow that process and keep your engine oil cleaner.
    It's a big unit you have got there so you are probably getting turbo noise entering through it. That's what the noise is and not necessary a bad thing. Just keep an eye out on it for a while yet and see if there is a benefit I reckon.

    ok will let it be for a while....its pretty hard to get to the throttle body...the limited tight space is not helping either
