  • Dump pipe removal.

Hello members, I have just purchased a new exhaust from Beaudesert Exhausts and thought I might try to fit it myself(big mistake) there is no way I can remove the nuts holding the dump pipe on, has anyone ever removed the whole exhaust manifold with the turbo and dump pipe on and fitted the new dump pipe that way. How hard is it to remove the exhaust manifold complete? Your comments would be appreciated. Regards Graeme.

Refer to my build thread page two. I have video. It may help

Use a hex socket. They are used for rattle guns and spray with wd over night and do it when the turbo is cool. Either the nut with come off or the stud will unscrew or the the whole lot might just snap off

I have been spraying the bolts with Inox for the last week, my mate works for an engine rebuilder here , he said he has mechanics bringing turbo's in to have broken studs removed so I am a bit worried. I still think it might be easier to remove the manifold complete or take it to a mechanic.

Tighten the nut first then see if it will come off. Failing that removing the manifold might be your best option. Just remember to put anti-seize past past on the bolt threads when installing.

Well there was no way I could get the dump pipe nuts off so I bit the bullet and took it to one of the guys in my SES unit who owns his own workshop and he got them undone and replaced the exhaust system for $300.00 which I thought was reasonable for 4.5 hours work, now to attack the suspension.
