  • 1kz ct12b turbo rebuild

i have a 90 series prado wagon with 200,000km on it the only problem is it is slowly burning oil.... the head was replaced 60,000km ago
and there is oil in the intercooler so i am beginning to suspect that the turbo seals are starting to go

in the comming few weeks i am going to pull the turbo off and check the shaft play
but in the mean time i am searching for someone in australia that will rebuild these turbos for a fair price

i can source a new one for $600 with a 2 year warranty
but i would prefer to keep the original toyota or maybe a high flowed version if the price was right

has anyone had there turbo rebuilt? what did it cost and who did the job

Oil in the I/C is pretty normal, if you want you can actually fit a oil catch can. Which will stop that from happening. how much oil are you loosing.
