2002 td manual GXL
Recently when going to start the vehicle as I turned the ignition on, the starter would sound like I am trying to start the vehicle in gear without the cluth pushed in (even though I have it in nuetrel) horrible sound. Did this for about a week then my battery 6 years old went dead. Replaced the battery with an old one from my chev and had no problems with the starter motor since. Any ideas has anyone come across this I went through some old threads on the 90 series but couldn't find the same problem. The vehicle was from Cairns and recently relocated to Albury I figured the cold weather down here raised a few issues but this one just seems wierd.
