Hi,
I'm currently looking at getting a Steinbauer P-box unit for my diesel after scouring the net for details on some of the competition including the DPCHIP and Dtronic units. So before I part with some $1,300 odd of "hard earned" are there any opinions out there as to which unit on the market might be better placed for the 'ol TX? They seem to be very close in terms of price with additional torque benefits available on the Steinbauer.
If anyone has any observations worth posting on performance improvements or disasters, please let me know.
(I figure this is one mod I can get away with without the handbrake knowing 8) )
Cheers
Roger

In the absence of any feedback from this forum I took the challenge and ventured to Macquarie 4x4 at Vineyard NSW. After some pointed questions and inevitable haggling they did a great deal on the Safari dtronic. Fuel consumption has improved from 12.5 to 11.5 litres/100kms and the power band around the high 2-3krpm is quite nice thank you very much. The chip is plug and play device which doesn't require tuning on instal. I believe the Steinbauer may be finicky in this area but the jobs done now and I'm happy with what I've got.
