Hi All,
New to the forum and based in Kenya, and trying to solve my prado problem out! Anyway it looks like this is the forum for that!
I have a 2002 prado, with a 1KD-FTV engine. in the last two days of use, it has gone from starting first kick on the ignition key to very long cranking with an eventual start. once running performance seems normal. I have searched on a number of threads but not finding the solution just yet.....I have checked the following:
Fuel filter is well seated
glow plugs are working
no vacuum in tank
changed fuel filter and tried a new one- no dirt in old filter and replacement has made no difference.
checked fuel lines to see they are all properly seated
battery voltages on both are fine, and cranking sounds normal speed.
Plugged it into a diagnostics machine and no error codes.
i do know the injectors are worn and need replacing. However I cant imagine this would make such a difference in two days time?
I would be very greatful for any suggestions anyone might have! Many thanks!
