  • Timing belt

The time has arrived for the timing belt to be replaced, anyone got any ball park figures on how much its going to cost?

A search reveals that the belt tensioner should also be replaced, but theres not a lot of info on what is has cost others.

Rainman, I did mine at 149,000km just before I sold the 90 and the 150k service including timing belt and tensioner was just under $500 from memory. No doubt you could do it yourself much cheaper (I used to do the timing belt services on my E21 BMW) but I simply didn't have time and I thought the cost was ok. I made sure I got a quote up front but was happy enough with the price given what some of the services on an 80 or 100 series cost
