  • Fuel pump timing

Has anyone adjusted the fuel pump timing (1KZ-TE)? I think I could try to adjust it a little bit earlier. EGT should go more down and black smoke should decrease too. I think it should give me more economy too.

    Any ideas  :?:

yes it could do those things,
but it could also lean it out too much when under boost and melt pistons.
deisels have a fine line, especially when you have a turbo.
best go and see deisel shop (that re-build injection pumps + injectors)
    and get their opinion.

Lean mixture is better, rich (very black smoke) is that what melt pistons.
And the smoking is self-caused  (pump/injectors are OK). Iīve turned the fuel skrew about 1 turn tighter + "tuning"box gives more fuel too. 8)
I have an EGT gauge, thatīs why I dare to play with black smoke.
