Am i asking to much?

I have a Prado 1999 FJ90 with a 2.8 3l engine, from the biggining it seems to lack power, its been serviced, i have tried injector cleaners, and it runs very well and have now done 10k miles.
On a flat road, unladen i am lucky to hit 75mph and uphill down to 50mph, downhill i can just get 80mph if i peddle as well!!!! I love the car but hate the performance, is this normal? i know its not a Farrari but i use to have a Shogun 2.8 and it drove well.
The only fault i can find is a vibration at about 60-65 mph but this is coming from the engine and not the drive!! its at the same revs no mater what gear.
Is there anyway of increasing performance or do i have to buy a 4.3 landcruiser?
otherwise i love the car and reliabilty.

Absolutely pathetic; had to drive the thing with my right foot buried into the firewall constantly just to keep up with the local traffic. You want to overtake a slow moving truck :?: .... plan at least a week in advance :roll:

That is normal for the 3L as for the viabration it will be the harmonic balancer on the way out very common on the L series

Out in Nicaragua I've had a 3-door 2000 Prado 3L for the past 9 months. Cost was a big decider on buying this version (the 3L was about US $1,500 cheaper than the 3.0TD of the same year) as was fuel enconomy. I can't say there are many roads in Nicaragua where you would want to be getting near to 75mph and as the 3L is pretty noisy, I wouldn't think it would be a nice experience. My Prado runs smoothly at a steady 60 mph on the flat or moderately uphill. But then again I have the SWB which must be a fair bit lighter than the 5-door.
