Other Toyota Deisel engines that easily replace 1KZ-TE in a 95 Series Prado (auto)

I'm having some dramas finding a suitably conditioned replacement 1KZ-TE engine and was wondering if anyone has fitted any of the other Toyota diesel engines from the Hilux's, Surfs, Hiace etc from that era with little to no drama's? What about the Land Cruiser engines? Any similarities?

Or better still, anyone have a spare reconned engine or one with lowish K's they'd be happy to part with? Based in Adelaide.
