  • Roo Systems Chip

I thought after having a Dtronic and a mandrel 2.75 inch exhaust nothing more could be done for the old Prado 90 1KZTE.

    But no!

After noticing some acceleration problems at low revs I was made an offer I couldn't refuse by the guys at AMMS (Roo Systems). They run the truck up on the dyno with the Dtronic then wack in and tune a Roo Systems unit and show me the results. If I decide not to go with it all I am up for is the dyno time.

First report was the the fuel/air was too lean and I wasn't getting enough fuel at lower revs which was probably due to the larger exhaust.

After some tweaking it was all done and I was blown away. Over 20 HP more at the rear wheels on the max setting!

Put it back a few notches and it pulls away without a thought, tows the camper trailer like it isn't there. Much easier to drive.

How much was the Roo Setup worth?

      Re: Roo Systems Chip

The dyno time to tune it plus the chip added up to $1750.

I already had the mandrel exhaust which had been fitted by Beaudesert exhausts a couple of years ago
