G'day
I put a 3.4 from a 97 pradp into my 4runner recently and am having a few problems. Basically what happens is when you turn the key it fires up for about 2 seconds and then dies. It sounds normal but you can smell a rich smell when it stops. If you try to start it again straight away it will just fire but it seams like it's getting flooded. Strange thing is if you turn the key off and then try again it will fire like it did the first time. I've tried this 10 times in a row and the same result.
So far I've checked the codes. It doesn't throw anything. All it does is blinks 9 times a second apart then a 2 second gap and counts 9 again.
I've tried a second air flow meter, ignitor, co adjuster, tps, isc and even a 2nd ecu. All of which made no difference.
So this brings me to my question. I've read elsewhere that it's possible for this to happen when either of these sensors have crapped themselves. Has this happened to anyone before?
Cheers
