Import motors do not suck. They are a lot better than ours. Most countries outside Japan (including Australia) get detuned versions of cars that leave Japan. The fuel in Japan is MUCH better. As a result, they run higher compression ratios, thinner head gaskets and different ECU maps to accommodate this. So if you get an import motor, bang it into an Aus spec vehicle like ours and expect the same thing, you'll be disappointed. Our engines and ECU maps in Australia are different compared to Japan because of the fuel type they use.Last edited by ON888; 05-10-2011, 03:13 PM.

hmmm motor bikes must be totally diferent then when stated in their performance specs form japan . the engine im talking about was a carby engine ,if it had higher compression it would have pinged its nuts off .it didn't it just went like a bucket of turds . might have got a lemon , but id never take the chance again.03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !
