  • Oil leak V6 3400cc Petrol Prado

I have a 2000 Prado 3400cc V6 petrol version which has an engine oil leak. I am struggling to work out the source of this leak.
It has had a small oil leek for a long time, something I ignored, but now it is puking out. It is coming from the front of the engine, just above the front centre sump plug. I don't think it is the front seal from the oil pump as there is no oil being slung around by the harmonic balance pulley.
The oil pressure switch is definitely not leaking, nor is the dip stick tube.
    Any suggestions?

I have heard that there is a little plug near the oil filter (not too sure as I have never had the need to look for it), that can leak oil, have a look in that area and tell us what you find, mind you give the engine a good degrease when the engine is cold before hand.

Found the problem... the front crankshaft oil seal is loose in the oil pump housing. A new seal with some gasket cement on it will fix the problem. I'm going to change the timing belt as well as it was coated wth oil.
Now the fun part... putting it all back together.
