Sorry, I thought you were going off the gauge. That is very high usage. I'd jack the car up to check that none of the brake calipers are seized. That would send your fuel bill through the roof.Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier

Oh ok. Nu I done a km reading. I will check this on the week end . I have spoken to Toyota service and they are going to do a IT screen shot. My sister is a mech at one of the service departments in tas. Said that would be the way to knock a couple of things out.Originally posted by williade View PostSorry, I thought you were going off the gauge. That is very high usage. Just another thing I've noticed. Haha. My Mrs has been driving it since we got home with it. I drove it sat, sun, Mon and got 100ks from 1/4 tank on gauge. Have told her to watch the gas a little. But yeah95 series 02 VX

To know how my fuel is going I start on the sub tank from full (both tanks) and run it till 150k's which should be exactly half used of the sub tank.
I then switch to the main tank and run that just before the low fuel light comes on and then switch to the sub tank for another 150k's.
On my milage I would get about 385k's from the sub so sticking to those distances I know I have room so as not to run either tank dry before filling up.Cheers, Leon

Around town and not towing I get at least 130 km on 1/4 of main tank, 150 km in country. Sounds like someone has a lead foot.Michael and Kelly

croozza, you must drive slower than a 90 year old who forgot their glasses.
Or you failed maths.. damn!
Seriously.. if that was highway, fine, but traffic, I can't believe those figures.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Nope, driving at the same speed as the rest of them all, (about 20-30kph, for about 15k's, then I get to turn off the highway and onto the toll road and drive at 100kph for another 15k's), dont forget im in an auto, so I just need to take my foot off the brake and let the car roll up to the speed, with the occasional press of the accellerator. With just highway figures, there is not much difference97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

Hahahaha Roo, your older than me.lol
Yes I do have the 5VZFE, The auto helps alot in the heavy traffic, also the idle is up a little more than normal (about 300 rpm more), but i will get that fixed one day, but that is why I dont have to touch the throttle much in traffic, it just idles up to the speed in each gear, if I just let it do it on its own, it will do 40kph (not good when off road though). It doesnt change that much when doing highway stuff. The petrol does not need to work anywhere near as hard as the diesel, so the fuel consupsion doesnt hurt you, but if you want to go hard off at the lights all the time then it will rise very quickly97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

Just an update. Refilled this morning for our trip to Perth and recorded 22l/100km town driving, that's after Maf clean. Also added injector cleaner to tank to see if any difference. Noticed that the gauge really only drops about 1/4 at a time in the main tank( havent checked sub) but at approx 1/4 was about 160km I'll have to refill to check but seems ALLOT better. Still going to watch though95 series 02 VX
