  • Can i repair a leaking LPG line?

    hi all,
Question is my lpg line is leaking and was wondering do i have to replace the entire line from back of car to the front or can i cut and piece with some joiners.

    My friend,

Not advise to have many connection in line, as it hold pressure.
The best is just replace from front to back.

Where is is it leaking from??? If leaking at the fittings on the steel line, you can repair, but not by cutting and fitting another connection, this will only be another spot where it can leak from in the future. If the steel line has been hit yes you will have to replace the steel line. Just remember you need to be licensed to play with the high pressure side of the any gas system, so I would leave it to the professionals!!!!

short answer to your new and more descriptive title is... possibly yes you can. would anyone actually advise an untrained and non-licensed person to work on a gas system? no.

you'd be endangering the lives of those around you on the road, your family and yourself. get a professional.

ok cut piece of hose out that is damaged and its just a rubber hose with outside braid. Cant possibly let anyone touch my truck as if it had been installed properly in the first place the damage to the hose would not of happend. I inspected the entire line and there are several places where it has been run along sharp edges causing knicks to form along hose. just goes to show why i have little faith in mechanics and have turned to doing everything by myself, if i dont know how to do something i learn how to do it. I suppose time constraints and boss's breathing down necks of mechanics make for a crappy job as being a technician myself i see day in day out what type of work so called qualified people do.
