Due to insufficient time, I have neglected the service for the trusty beast. But today I made time to actually do the service. I had iridium quad electrode plugs in (Bosch), however over the past couple of weeks I noticed a drop in power and rise in fuel consumption. So I changed the spark plugs...... hmmmm what can I say, if you know what an iridium plug looks like, then you would know that the electrode is like a large needle (to put it in laymans terms), when I pulled the plugs out, none of them had any electrode left....oops. now she's much better, but I wasn't going to pay the price they wanted for the same plugs though ($130 a set). So I went one step down from the quads to the normal twin but still Iridium. (@ $30 a set).

Cant remember the part number but they are a Bosch plug and I got them from Supacrap Auto.... I think they were on special as I haven't seen them at that price there again. As for the quad electrode iridium plugs, they just last longer than the std copper and have a cleaner and stronger spark. I had them in for about 120000, but when you work out the cost of them against the cost of std plugs it works out the same over the long run, (you just change them less often with the iridium. These new plugs wont last as long as the quad electrodes, only about 60000ks, but that's ok, so far they have performed as good as the quads.Originally posted by Gihan View PostHi Crozza,
What is the part number you bought for $30 and where you bought it? I'm about to change plugs and thinking of iridium. Also on your last set how many Ks you have done? Anyone else’s comment on iridium over standard Denso(from dealer) for 3.4v6?
