  • help my 99 prado wont start!

    can, someone help me.my prado wont start everytime.it cranks but wont fire up.if I leave it for a bit and go back it starts first time,will drive it around perfectly,turn it off and it happens again.going crazy here.its petrol and gas, no warning lights come on.

    Unless someone on here knows a lot about gas conversions (I know zip), I think you'll need to take it to a gas specialist.

      Have a LPG/petrol conversion on our VN dunneydore.......it has a switch so you can select either LPG or petrol. But - this system *always* starts on petrol, if the switch is set to petrol it stays on petrol. If the switch is set to LPG - then it will switch over to LPG at a pre-determined RPM point. (gives the motor time to warm-up a bit so it doesn't stall on LPG)

      We had some issues similiar to the OP (aynsley). Occasionally, the VN wouldn't start, regardless of the position the switch was in. Took it to the guy who did the install and he fiddled with the LPG ECU and it worked fine after that. Not sure what he did though ?

      Best bet is to take your rig to an LPG installer and get them to check out the LPG system and all the related components. It is probably something really simple.
