Well still fighting this damn bloody light had all new wiring from the knock sensor back to ecu done done the Tps done the gearbox done or flow sensor done the valve thingy done the temp sensor and the light is still there I so wanna blow the thing up any other things that could possibly cause these codes

some days i can go 15km before it will come on but other times it comes on straight away.
only diffrence with light on is it lacks power and have no hope of towing with it and is using alot of fuel the light comes on weather running petrol or gas .
its doing our head in and costing the earth has anyone got any other ideas of what to look at next or had the same problem.
thanks in advance
After replacing with two new knock sensors plus replaced the bottom harness with a new unit from Japan, and replaced the ECU. I now still have the old 55 code and a new fault code of 42 ???
Car drives ok but once it warms up the check engine light still comes on after temp gage moves to normal running temp and revs hit around 3,000rpm whilst driving. If i stop and turn off the engine and start up again the light stays off as long as i dont drive and rev over 3,000rpms. I tried putting two bottles of lifter quiet in over the weekend and that helped slightly with the lifter noise but has not resolved the other issues with the check engine light. Fuel economy is crap and it runs ok until i need to drive on any moderate to steep grade, when it has nxt to no power.
Have a very good mate that is an engine rebuilder who is keen to help me solve this problem. But we just need some direction in what could be the cause ... We have done new knock sensors new harness, wiring harness tested and replaced ECU ...
I hope some one can clue us in on what next to look at, for solving the issue.

I really hoped a dedicated prado forum would have helped solve this issue

I don't have one of these engines but does the knock sensor actually warn the driver that she's knocking?
Has anyone checked air/fuel ratios to see if she's leaning out?
With a petrol car, a lean out is typically low fuel pressure either from buggered pump or blocked filter.
Can also be from poor choice of plugs. Some plugs knock like crazy, change the heat range and all good.
Most ecu's won't log faults until the engine has reached operating temp which could be the reason you get a certain distance before she throws a fault.
From memory they don't run closed loop so no oxygen sensors to give false readings, engine was approved as an agricultural type?

I will ask my machanic freind to look into the fuel pump and fuel filter and also check if we are running the right spark plugs
Much appreciated you commenting.
