Major service which filters.

Hi to all. I am a new member be gentle!!

I have a 1998 petrol V6 3.4 GXL Auto (love this car) I have owned it for 8 years and have done all my own servicing.
I am about to do the 150 K service. Changing oil & filter, Coolant, Brake fluid, Power steering fluid, Auto trans fluid, Spark plugs.

Is there a filter in the fuel line anywhere ? and also is there a filter in the Auto trans that needs to be changed. I can see no reference to these in the vehicle handbook on the service intervalls page.

I have not changed the timing belt ever should this be done as I have done 150K and can see no reference to that being changed either.

should have both filters, and timing belt done at a maximum of 150,000km.
mine is a 97model and i do the timing belt every 100,000km in it because a mechanic that worked at toyota told me the the earlier ones needed doing earlier. this may be incorrect but im not going to risk it as it is a small price to pay for reliability!

Fuel filter is up near the gearbox on the l/h side just inside the chassis from memory.

Thanks for the info guys much appreciated. I will take those issues on board.

Beast2H have you done the timing belt yourself? Are there any special tools or skills involved that a competant home mechanic would not alreday posess?

Toyota quoted me $170 for a kit containing the belt and tensioner pulleys.

my car did timing belt at 130 000 k's and cost warranty people heaps i do it now every 100 000 and im up to 335 000
